Focus and Scope
The 4th International Conference of Research on Language 2025 (IRoLe 2025) is a hybrid joint international conference organized by Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Melacca Campus in Malaysia and the Department of Languages, Arts, and Culture Management, Vocational College, Universitas Gadjah Mada in Indonesia. The 3rd IRoLe will take place in Yogyakarta, at Gelanggang Inovasi dan Kreativitas on the UGM campus and also through Zoom platform, on September 9-10, 2025. The conference is entitled “The Roles of Multilingualism and Multiculturalism in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals across the Archipelago.”
Peer-review Process
All submitted papers undergo an initial evaluation by the editorial staffs. Those deemed unfit for conference criteria are rejected promptly without external review. Papers deemed potential are sent to reviewers. Reviewers assess papers based on the following criteria:
- Relevance and timeliness
- Technical content and scientific rigor
- Novelty and originality
- Presentation quality
Based on reviewer’s recommendation, editors decide the paper’s status: rejected, require major revision, or need minor revision. Authors can monitor the status of their papers at any time from their Microsoft CMT accounts. The committee will notify authors via email when the review process is complete. After notification of acceptance, authors must revise their paper in accordance with the author guidelines and review results.

Conference Attendance
Attendance is mandatory for all presenters for both online and onsite sessions. Co-presenters or co-authors might substitute main presenters in case they are unable to attend the scheduled presentation. Change of attendance will result in a change of name listed in the certificate. Unpresented papers will be removed from publication and automatically declared as rejected.
